WebNov 14, 2011 · Drain the oil if you can. My pan slid on the ground too many times. Get a bunch of putty, clean it with brake clean and rags. spread putty over the crack wait for it to dry and put in some new oil. Worked for me. Clean the crack with brake cleaner, lacquer thinner, acetone, or a similar solvent. Let the pan sit for a while to see if more oil appears. If so clean again.

WebAug 14, 2009 · 2. put the big o-ring on the clamp then grab the hole the dip sick goes in then back off the nut. check it as some have stripped the threads over tightening it trying to stop leak. if it is stripped then you got problems as it can only be replaced by dropping the pan. sorry i have not done it so no help there WebJun 11, 2010 · The oil pan on my truck is starting to rust through (pinhole leaks).
