WebFeb 21, 2010 · I think the heat doesn't get to your thumb for 2 reasons: 1. Cold air from driving hits the element on the back side, and takes away some of the heat it is creating. 2. The plastic of the throttle is so thick, that what heat is left, can't "penetrate" the plastic enough to heat it up, and get to your thumb. The back of the heat strip has adhesive to stick it on, then you place the shrink tube over the throttle lever and the heat strip and take a heat gun to the shrink tube. Wire it up and done.

The wire connecter looks fine and added dielectric grease. Checked ohm readings. White/Grey wire = 7.4 ohm, Orange/Grey 10.6 ohm. Ground wire has good continuity.
